I work with individual adults (aged 18 years and over) for REBT, CBT, Counselling, EMDR, Coaching and Mindfulness.
The majority of sessions I run are now online as clients often prefer the benefit and convenience of being able to attend therapy from the comfort of their own home and without having to travel. This means I can help clients from all over the UK and even further afield.
I am able to offer face to face sessions for clients who are able to get to Wilstead in Bedfordshire. Please ask me for more details of this if it is of interest.
Because REBT and CBT is a process, it does not go on indefinitely. Although every case is different, I would expect it to take between 10 and 15 sessions to equip clients with the tools that will help them to continue the process of change they are striving for. However, I am led entirely by you. Some clients are happy with fewer sessions, some require more.
Clients should expect the first session of REBT/CBT to take about an hour and 15 minutes with subsequent sessions lasting between 50 minutes and one hour.
EMDR therapy is slightly different. Typically, if used exclusively, I would expect our work to take about 6 sessions but each will be about an hour and a half in length.
The relationship between client and therapist should be based upon trust and rapport.
I work hard at building both with my clients. I have a naturally friendly and relaxed manner that I use to put clients at ease from our first meeting.
My aim is to help you to achieve the long-term goals that you set from the beginning but also to help you feel better at the end of each session than you did at the beginning.
